First to say hello
I'll get this started by introducing myself. I am Wayne Canning a Marine Surveyor working out of Wilmington NC. I have been building and repairing boats for more than 30 years. I have completed several project boats for myself as well. My current project boat is a 1981 Irwin Citation 40. This boat was dis masted in hurricane Charlie. The boat was docked at the time. I believe the roller furling jib stared unrolling and flagging causing excessive stress on the rig. A badly corroded fitting failed and the mast came down. It seemed the boat was a bit let go prior to this incident as well. I have done much work to this boat including re-wiring re plumbing, re-varnishing the interior, replacing rotted interior components as well as replacing the rig. I have been working on this boat for about 3 years and it is now my home. I still have many projects yet to complete. Pictures to come
