I hope I'm in the proper section of the forum. The reason I picked Hull and Deck is because I have decided to remove a plywood partition in my lazerette that is conected to both the hull and the deck. It was put there by the manufacturer with bronze wood screws that went through the plywood into wooden cleats that were glassed to the hull and deck. I removed the wood screws and saw no difference in the weight bearing integrity of the deck after removal. Here's the deal...I needed the panel gone so as to make my ability of getting to the after bilge area ( read stuffing box) possible. Being rather rotund, I needed to gain unhindered entrance to a vital area of the boat without delay in case of an emergency. As for what may happen in the future with the panel removed....we shall see.
